About the
Westmead Health Precinct
Westmead is one of the largest health and education precincts in Australia with four major hospitals, three world-leading medical research institutes and major tertiary education institutions with campuses on the precinct. More than $3 billion has been committed by the government, universities and the private sector to upgrade and expand the precinct over the next few years.
This includes the $1 billion Westmead Redevelopment project which included Block K for our new Emergency Department and other services.
Transport links are also being transformed at Westmead with the introduction of Parramatta Light Rail, a confirmed stop for Westmead on Metro West and the first stage of Western Sydney Rail, and a connection to the new Western Sydney International Airport opening in 2026.
